Once your website is built it's gotta be kept somewhere on a web server that allows the public quick and easy access to your site via their web browser. This is called website hosting and choosing a host can be a complicated decision. It shouldn't be – first, if you'd like, FarquharTech will happily arrange all the particulars of your hosting setup and include the hosting cost in your overall site cost. If you'd like to have more control over your site's homebase you can setup your own HostMonster (or another host company) account and pass on the necessary logins and passwords to us. Whatever the case we want you to feel in-control and educated about your website's place on the web.

Remember: do not confuse webhosting with domain name registration. While your may have already shelled out to register your domains those domains will have to point somewhere and that is where your webhost steps in. Many companies offer both services, but generally not as a package. GoDaddy.com has long been the de-facto domain name registrar but Farquhar Tech has begun migrating all our domain registrations to HostMonster as well.

$100 host setup and domain transfer service; includes FTP setup, e-mail accounts, and DNS setup this one-time fee includes our personal attention to the entire hosting / domain / site migration process with this option you will never have to login to your web hosting account. We'll create it, upload to it, insure correct domain name transfers, and then send you the passwords for your records.

$50 domain name transfer and site upload : after your prototype site is finished we will migrate it from our server and upload it to the hosting account you provide to us. We will then connect your registered domain names to this server and then create any e-mail addresses you'd like associated with your registered domains. If all your servers needs remain constant this is a one-time fee. With this option the fees associated with hosting are your responsibility – so is assuring the account does not expire. This is a slightly more hands-on approach.
